The Nürburgring 24-Hour Race was held at the Nürburgring circuit (25.378km/lap) from 23 to 26 June 2011.
Subaru Tecnica International Inc. (STI,) sponsored by ORIENT WATCH, entered the SP3T class with its SUBARU WRX STI 4-door model, a sub-2 litre turbo-charged vehicle (team members: Toshihiro Yoshida, Kota Sasaki, Marcel Engels, and Carlo van Dam). It completed the 24-hour race to come in 21st overall and win its class. It completed a total of 142 laps, or around 3,603.7km.

ORIENT WATCH has been supporting STI in this bold challenge since 2009. In its third attempt, STI has finally reached the highest goal of the challenge.
It was the "reliable Japanese technologies"—also a promotional message of ORIENT WATCH—that enabled the STI vehicle to win its class. This demonstrates that Japanese technologies are still truly world class. As a Japanese manufacturer ourselves, we at ORIENT WATCH are proud of this feat by Subaru Tecnica International Inc.

M-FORCE
M-FORCE, mounted on the dashboard, completed the race

For this year's race, ORIENT WATCH offered the M-Force, a shockproof mechanical watch released in the spring of 2011.The watch was mounted on the dashboard of the racing vehicle, to confirm the reliability and toughness of the product.

It was a unique and significant challenge to mount a mechanical watch on the state-of-the-art racing vehicle, which drove for 24 hours in the tough conditions of the Nürburgring circuit. However, our M-Force completed the race successfully. It kept accurate time for the entire 24 hours without any problem with its accuracy and without being affected by shock at all. It was a convincing confirmation of the watch's durability and reliability.

ORIENT WATCH will ensure that this same, superior durability and reliability will feature in new products released in the future. We will also continue our development efforts by testing our products in extreme conditions like the 24-hour race. In doing so, we will study and pursue even more advanced watch structures and materials.
Just as STI continues to take on challenges around the world, we at ORIENT WATCH will keep testing our precision technologies on a global level. We look forward to your continued support and encouragement.
