*Spin pattern
A continuous spiral pattern is created on the face during the surface finishing process by placing a rotating grindstone tip onto the surface at an angle and pulling horizontally or vertically. As the resulting reflection gives the watch greater shine and dimension and a feel of higher class, this method was often used on the faces of mechanical watches during the 1960's and 1970's.
